Missing in Action

Okay, I haven't really been missing in action, but a lot of has been going on. Here's a quick update.

In March Jessica and I went to a writer's conference. It's one we go to each year.  We took classes on writing fiction because we have an idea for a teen series based on underwater criminology, which is what Jessica is studying at college. The lady in the middle was our teacher--Deborah Raney. She writes women's fiction. She looked at a manuscript I've been working on. I am 75,000 words into it and stuck.

Jasmine had a dance, and I got to chaperone.

Jessica's puppy has gotten to be an armful.

We've had lots of good days to play out.

We've also done a lot of Wii Outdoor Adventure and Just Dance.

We went to the springs. They are 68F year round and that is really cold for water.

We flew kites on the beach after church on Easter. It was very windy.

We do an after dark flashlight Easter egg hunt.

Tyler got a job picking up trash along the highways. This is his first week, and he really likes it.
Adam is in track. He is at districts today.

He had prom last week.

We had a 1 1/2 mile beach run yesterday morning at 6:30 a.m.

There were 162 runners. Jasmine was the only one under 18 years old.  Most of them were a military squadron.

Adam beat them all.

Jessica was about in the middle of them.

She went right through the finish line and into the water!

Kaleb made A/B honor roll.

Jasmine made A/B honor roll too.
You can read more about all these events on my family blog.

I have a book coming out in July.
This is the design for the cover. I asked for some changes--perhaps a second child of another color on it. But it may be too late, so this may be it. It's not bad, just not what I had in mind. It is similar to the cover of another book in the series. What do you think?

This is the little blurb they have about it.
What kind of fruit did Eve take from the tree of knowledge of good and evil? A. pear; B. apple; C. we don’t know.

What did Jesus serve the disciples for breakfast? A. fruit and cereal, B. fish and bread; C. manna and quail.

Learn a little Bible trivia while learning more about God’s message within the Bible. This One Year book features 365 trivia questions that lead into meaningful devotions about the questions. Each devotion also includes a For You section, which gives a simple application to kid’s lives. And the answer to the opening question wraps up the devotion and gives readers biblical references to read.

This book will keep curious kids on their toes and give them a reason to open their devotional and Bible daily. They can also use their knowledge to test family members each day. [The answers to the questions above are C. we don’t know and B. fish and bread.]
