Conversation Starters

The new school years is just days or weeks away. You'll have a new teacher or a bunch of new

teachers if you're in middle school. Middle school also means meeting a lot of new students since the students come from more than one elementary school. If you don't know how to start a conversation with them, try some of the conversation starters below. And don't forget to smile and be friendly!

About families:
Do you have any bothers or sisters?
How old are they?
Which one do you get along with best? Fight with most?
Do your grandparents live near you?
How often do you see them?

About school:
What's your favorite class?
Which is your least favorite?
Who is your favorite teacher?
How long have you gone to this school?
What other schools have you gone to?

About hobbies and fun:
What do you like to do after school?
Do you take any lessons?
Are you on any teams?
What is your favorite sport?
What's your favorite TV show?
Do you like to read?
What is your favorite book?
What kind of music do you listen to?

About church:
What church do you go?
If you don't go to church, would you like to visit my church?
How many children are in your Sunday school class?
Do you ever have parties or special activities?
What kind of things do you do at your church?
